Tracy the Penguin is a total nonconformist who lives with a group of formal, proper penguins. But it is Tacky who foils the plans of three hunters who threaten the penguins. With his un-penguin-like behavior, Tacky puzzles the hunters to such an extent that they are firmly convinced that they cannot be in the “land of the pretty penguins”. This whimsical tale clearly shows there are advantages to being an individual, delighting children and adults alike.
Activity—Using the penguin puppet to retell the story, first as Tacky, and then as the "proper" penguins, to contrast the movements of Tacky and the other penguins.
